Cookie Policy

Last Updated: 3 Jun 2026 · Version 1.1

This Cookie Policy explains how Kodwise OÜ (“we”, “us”, or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies to recognise you when you visit our websites, use our mobile apps, or interact with our Services. It describes what these technologies are, why we use them, and how you can control their use, in compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the ePrivacy Directive. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. WHAT ARE COOKIES?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites function efficiently, provide analytics insights, and enable personalised experiences. Similar technologies include web beacons, SDKs, local storage, and pixels.

2. TYPES OF COOKIES WE USE

We categorise cookies as follows:

  • Strictly Necessary Cookies – required for the website to function (e.g., session management, load balancing, bot/fraud protection, and saving your consent choice). These do not require consent (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Functional Cookies – enhanced functionality and personalisation, such as remembering your language or region. Require your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
  • Analytics Cookies – help us understand how visitors interact with our site (e.g., page views, session duration, referrer URLs). Data is aggregated/pseudonymised where appropriate. Require your consent.
  • Marketing Cookies – deliver relevant ads, retarget users, and measure campaign performance (e.g., Google Ads, Meta Pixel). Require your explicit consent, and target parents/guardians — never children.

3. LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING

Article 6(1)(f) GDPR – for cookies strictly necessary to deliver the website and ensure security.
Article 6(1)(a) GDPR – for all optional cookies (functional, analytics, and marketing), used only after you give consent via our Consent Management Platform (CMP). Non-essential cookies are blocked until you consent, and Google Consent Mode is set to denied by default.

4. THIRD-PARTY COOKIES

Some cookies are placed by third-party providers that help us with analytics, advertising, and content delivery, in line with their own privacy policies. We deliver these tags through Google Tag Manager, consent-gated by our CMP. Examples:
• Google LLC (Google Analytics 4, Google Ads)
• Meta Platforms, Inc. (Meta Pixel — measurement directed at parents; never a child’s data)
• Microsoft Corporation (Clarity — only where used, consent-gated and configured to mask inputs)
• Cloudflare (bot/DDoS protection)

Advertising measurement is directed at parents/guardians and uses only hashed parent identifiers — never a child’s name, age, or date of birth. We do not make transfers to a country without an EU adequacy decision.

5. CONSENT MANAGEMENT

On your first visit you are presented with our Consent Management Platform (CMP) (Cookiebot), which complies with the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework (TCF v2.2). You can accept, reject all non-essential cookies, or choose categories, and review or update your preferences at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in our footer or by clearing cookies in your browser. Your consent choice is stored for up to 12 months unless withdrawn earlier.

6. RETENTION PERIODS

We retain cookie data only as long as necessary for its purpose:
• Session cookies – deleted automatically when you close your browser.
• Persistent cookies – retained for a maximum of 12 months, unless consent is withdrawn earlier.

After expiry or withdrawal of consent, cookie data is deleted or anonymised.

7. HOW TO CONTROL COOKIES

You can manage or withdraw consent in several ways:
• Via our CMP (“Cookie settings” link on the site) — including Reject all;
• In your browser settings (block, delete, or restrict cookies);
• Using third-party opt-out tools (Google Ads Settings, Meta Ad Preferences, YourOnlineChoices.eu).

Disabling some cookies may limit website functionality or personalised experiences.

8. UPDATES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect legal or technological changes. Updates will be published on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. For more information on how we process personal data, please see our Privacy Policy.
